Thursday Doors May 31: Rocky Mountain High

Two weekends ago, I traveled out to Denver Colorado to see an amazing concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater. For those of you who don’t know of the theater, it’s about 10 miles outside of Denver, in an open air natural HUGE rock structure. While I have a couple photos in the mix, google it as well to get aerial and other views. Simply spectacular.

Otherwise, it was a whirlwind weekend, with only a bit of time to venture out in the city. Which means of course, DOORS. Mixed with some fun and funky art. All in all, a great city, great adventure, and great concert.

The concert was really a top three for me, which says a LOT. Above & Beyond are not just DJ’s, but musicians, humanitarians, and fully ingrained in their music and show. I could weep that I missed their fully orchestrated acoustic gig at the Hollywood Bowl. Next time for sure…

Thursday Doors April 19: Four from the Beach

We celebrated my son’s birthday at the beach this past weekend, a place that I will need to revisit (and, I will, soon) to capture much more than I did. Alas, this was more a quiet reflective day, though still very much celebrating his life and memory… and on a last minute thought I realized, “Doors!”… So, consider this a teaser, until next time….

For the lovely Norm’s Thursday Doors Challenge , of which I’ve sorely missed!

Thursday Doors December 7: West Coast Doors (sung to West End Girls, if you’re a Pet Shop Boys fan)

FINALLY.

A doors posting for Thursday – what is it with busy lives??

But, on a positive spin, this week’s doors come out of a little vacation, a little respite. Actually, a lot of both, in a favorite place of mine: California. Specifically, the San Francisco Bay part of California. And while I took a boatload more pics of wildlife, birds, nature and beautiful landscapes (all that never end), those will certainly come later,  once I sort thru the mountain of digital images (thankfully, the ‘mountain’ a tiny SD card nestled in my DSLR. Heh).

Ok. Here’s to some fun funky and classy San Francisco doors!

For this week’s doors challenge.

Thursday Doors September 21: Summer Wanes…

We headed to the weekly grower’s market again this past weekend, having been really fortunate with great weather during this changing of the seasons. And once again, taking it on foot as opposed to tooling around in my car makes it alllllll a new adventure.

I open with, of all things, a gelateria! Yes, Manja Mexi Movie, it’s here in my (almost) back yard waiting for you! Though I’ve not tried it, I’m told the owner is from Italy and knows his gelato! I’ll keep you posted if it’s legit 🙂

For this week’s doors challenge.

As we ended at the market, I photographed the yummy local fruits and veggies that I bought (but no, not the dogs!)

Thursday Doors September 14: In and Out

Dinner in the city, same doors, coming and going.

And, it was a pretty decent BBQ.

And one more, next door. The yellow can’t be beat…

Thursday Doors August 31: Because yet again, we never ever tire of Italy!

Ok. I know, I know – my last few posts have been limited to Thursday’s Door challenge (though, a lovely challenge it is!). If only that pesky work thing didn’t burden my days!

Volterra. I struggle with saying it was my favorite hill town in Italy. Because those who’ve been know – it’s near impossible to have one favorite spot in Italy.  That said, I adored this splendid town, and have pics to view that would put us all to sleep. In a good way, to sleep. Its fairy tail “pinch me” charm goes unsurmounted…

For Joey’s (Norm’s on vacation!) Thursday Doors Challenge!

Thursday Doors August 24: Roma Sampler

As it goes with the 2300+ photos I shot whilst in Italy, I sort thru, and sort thru again, and again…. well, you get my point. I have enough to post on my blog for months perhaps, but wouldn’t want to overdo it on Italy (is there ever such a thing, I wonder??) 🙂

For today’s doors, a few from Rome. While I focused on Trastevere, a rione (district) of Rome, in a previous post, I’ve not visited my overall Roma collection of doors. Here, a diverse mix.
