While Point Reyes National Seashore is not a (wildlife) sanctuary, in many ways it presented itself that way, on my first ever visit there. Point Reyes has it all: bays, lagoon, ocean, lighthouse, cape, and LOTS of wildlife. Amazing, beautiful wildlife.
I included too a sprinkling from another brief but wonderful spot called Shorebird marsh in Corte Madera. Many new water birds (to me!) including a stunning flock of American Avocet.
Another amazing day in my California visit!
Male Western Bluebird
Acorn Woodpecker
Tule Elk
Female Western Bluebird
Dark-eyed Junco
Male California Quail – while these are common in California, I was smitten with these quirky cute gorgeous birds!
We had 2 different pairs of foxes that evening appear before us. Here on the east coast, we have the red fox, so this was a new meeting for me! And indeed, all of the wildlife was spectacular. 🙂
Oooo, I missed this one. So much life! Even though all birds and elk are adorable, my favourite is the fox ❤
