It’s easy to feel extremely humbled, and quite a bit miniature, when walking through a grove of Coast Redwoods in California’s Muir Woods National Monument…especially where the Redwoods create natural doors, inviting us in for a biscuit and tea, perhaps.
And in scouring my photos on my Mac, I came across a couple others that were “hobbit” inspiring…
For this week’s doors challenge….
Coast Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens), Muir Woods California: My 6’2″ tall nephew and son could call it home perhaps. While the redwoods here are a bit smaller than their Giant Sequoia cousin, they still are an amazing 250 or so feet tall, and over 500 years old (the oldest here is 1200 years old!) This is an all time favorite place of mine in the world.

My hobbit son 🙂 Nah, he’s actually well over six feet tall!
A great entry!

I like the unique addition of the hobbit tree doors. 🙂 Both places are wonderful.

Wow, using your family scale, nature’s creations are pretty amazing! I’m partial to the root cellar door as well…

If it were me in the photo, I’d REALLY fit the bill as a hobbit 🙂 The root cellar is very cool, though we weren’t able to go inside sadly!
